Clifton Bennett Gunn

Clifton Bennett Gunn, 86, of Kibler, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2026 in Fort Smith. He was born December 22, 1939 in Kibler to the late John and Adabeth (Bennett) Gunn. He was a mail carrier and a farmer.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phebia Gunn.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Shores Gunn; three daughters, Laurie McWater and husband Harry of Alma; Becky Loyd and husband Randy of Van Buren, and Sarah Norman and husband Scott of Webb City, MO; a son, John Gunn and wife Sarah of Kibler; a stepson, Brian Shores and wife Misty of Natural Dam; nine grandchildren, Summer Crabtree (Matt), Tyler Farrar, Desirae Niemann (Nick), Brooklyn Schoolcraft (Jesse), Kiley Sutphin (Shawn), Baylee Montoya, Browning Gunn, Greenlee Gunn, and Grayson Gunn; and nine great-grandchildren, Anna Beth Crabtree, Lila Kate Crabtree, Griffin Niemann, Hilton Schoolcraft, Kinleigh Gillet, Addi Sutphin, Maggie Adams, Tegen Adams, and Lennon Montoya.

A private graveside service will be under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Shores, James Blan, Smitty, Pete Bennett, Harold and Mable Oliver, Lawanna Gill, Ralph Figley, and James Hampton.

The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
