Daniel "Danny" Voorhees, Sr., 74, of Alma passed away Tuesday morning, August 29, 2017 at his home. He was born November 22, 1942 in Fort Smith to the late William and Marie (Smith) Voorhees. He had worked most of his life as a Millwright out of the Carpenter's Local Union 71 in Fort Smith. He was an avid outdoorsman loving both hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his son, Daniel Voorhees, Jr. of Alma; a sister, Faye (Voorhees) Bardsley, and his nephew, Alan Wayne Broyles both of Fort Smith, and his favorite companion, Sparky.
Graveside memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at the Alma City Cemetery. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday September 05, 2017 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Crawford County Animal Shelter Inc., 7007 Cardinal Drive, Van Buren, AR 72956.
