Gwen Nichols, 89, of Van Buren, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016 in Fort Smith. She was born December 27, 1926 in the Cavanaugh Community to the late Zackie and Esther Clement. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles “C.E.” Nichols.
She is survived by two sons, Phillip Nichols of Ozark, and David Nichols of Short, OK; a brother, Larry Clement of Oceanside, CA; four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2016 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Zack Jordan, Bob Ebarb, Jared Nichols, and James Henson.
The family will visit with friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren.
