Rev. James S. Edwards

Rev. James S. Edwards, 93, of Van Buren, AR, passed away September 13, 2011 in Van Buren, AR. he was born April 19, 1918 in Mulberry, AR to Emzy Lee and Grace Edwards. He was a minister, carpenter and a member of Sunnyside Assembly of God Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 74 years, Macie May “Ann” Edwards and a granddaughter, Kimberly Hogan.

He is survived by four daughters, Margaret Davis and her husband, Tom of Alma, AR, Mary Dickens and her husband, Jerry of Alma, AR, Dian Marr and her husband, Don of Van Buren, AR and Janice Moore and her husband, Garry of Alma, AR; a son, Mike Edwards and his wife Denise of Alma, AR; a brother, Clifford Edwards of Mulberry, AR; 10 grandchildren, Jennie Davis and her husband, Brian of Huntsville, AL, Terrie Tomlinson and her husband, Kent of Lowell, AR, Pauletta Martin and husband Jerry of Alma, AR, Rodney Dickens and wife Gayle of Cedarville, AR, Kendall Hogan and wife Micah of Alma, AR, Dillon Marr of Alma, AR, Charity Gilmore and her husband Steven of Alma, AR, Kevin Moore of Alma, AR, Tiffany Matheny and her husband Brent of Dyer, AR, Emily Cason and her husband Drew of Benton, AR; 15 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild and numerous friends and relatives.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Friday , September 16, 2011 at Butterfield Assembly of God Church in Van Buren. Burial will be held privately under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren, AR.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers will be Assembly of God pastors and their wives.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M. Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren, AR
