For most of my life Uncle Jimmy McMurray was just a legend my dad, father Billie Bob McMurray’s little brother. My mother Ellen loved Jimmy and his dear wife. I finally got to meet Jimmy in 2000 when we came to visit Van Buren . His sense of humor matched the legend he had us laughing all day as he shared tales of growing up in the hills. We loved and treasured these memories.

Jimmy, Joyce, "The Boys", Karla, and "The Grandboys" are favorite relatives of ours! I am so glad to have inherited y'all when I married your cousin Jim! He always had told me such fun stories about you! And we sure did make some more good memories through the years! We've loved our visits and the good conversation and laughs in the den! You are what my Jim calls "good people". I believe Jimmy was a wonderful, loving role model to have such a sweet family. We will always remember how we showed up one time in a great big rented pickup truck and how Jimmy wanted one "just like it"!!! And he got it!!! Loved his smile! We love all of you so much!

I could talk all day of all the stories and memories, we spent so many good times growing up at grandma and grandaddys and Jimmy And Joyce and the boys were always a huge part of it whether it was deer camp ,or camping at Devils den every summer,or just sitting on grandmas porch listening to granddaddy and uncle Jimmy telling stories, and uncle Jimmy would always get out his pocket knife and either start wittling on a stick or pull out his stone and start sharpening his knife . I remember one evening he was talking and sharpening, and i guess he did a good job sharpening because he ran his knife off the edge of to stone and shaved the end of his finger right off. He always had a word of advice or a story to tell and i will miss him always, and treasure all those wonderful memories.

My entire childhood memories consist of the holidays, get togethers and visit at Uncle Jimmy and Auntie Joyce house. I remember a Christmas where we sang I saw mommy kissing Santa in front if the fireplace. Mother's Day at Granddaddy and Grannies across the street where I would wait for Cuddles to make her appearance. I was fortunate to move into my grandparents house to raise our children. Marcus, Loganmarie and Marcus got to create their own special memories with Uncle Jimmy and Auntie Joyce. Halloween treats made just for them. Uncle Jimmy was always telling stories of The Deer Woods to Marcus. Every new animal Loganmarie and Mattilyne adopted Uncle Jimmy was the go to for show and tell. Mark and him could talk about everything, then some. From taking yummy goodies we made to just hanging out talking about The Hogs. Each Good Bye ended in a Big Hug, a kiss on the check.and I love you. I'll miss those the most.
