James Wofford

James Wofford, Sr., 72, of Van Buren, passed away Friday, June 20, 2014 in Fort Smith. He was born February 18, 1942 in Fort Smith to the late Cathy and Letta Wofford. He retired from Pepper Source and was a member of New Life United Pentecostal Church in Alma.

He is survived by his wife, Charla Wofford of the home; five daughters, Cathy Tubbs of San Antonio, TX, Wendy White of Alma, Sherry Gilbert of Stilwell, OK, Terry Miller of Ozark, and Ruth Ann Thompson of Fort Smith; three sons, Carl Wilkinson, Jr. of Kibler, James W. Wofford, Jr. of Alma, and David Brown of Van Buren; fifteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow at Alma Cemetery, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

Pallbearers will be David Brown, Carl Wilkinson, James Wofford, Jr., William Miller, Anthony Straw, Matthew Parks, Justin Cooper, Joseph Cooper, Jason Cooper and Joshua Brown. Aubrey Beaumont will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 23, 2014, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home in Van Buren.
