

Jesse Lee Jackson, 72, of Mulberry, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2015 at his home. He was born March 15, 1943 in Mulberry to the late Cyrus “Buster” and Minnie Ellen Jackson. He was a retired self-employed farmer and rancher, a member and former commander of the American Legion Post No. 149, and was a member of the Mulberry United Methodist Church. He served in two branches of the Armed Services, the United States Army, and the United States Navy, where he served during the Vietnam Conflict.
He is survived by his wife Anna of the home; three daughters, Jessica Jackson of Texas, Analee Harmon of Mulberry, and Cheri Damron of Clarksville; two sons, Shaun Jackson of Spring Lake, NC, and Ralph Hayes of Natural Dam; a sister, Phyllis Pendleton of Alma; a brother, Phillip Jackson of Mulberry; fourteen grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Hight Cemetery in Franklin County, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Derek Damron, Jared Damron, Forest Damron, Levi Hayes, Hunter Hayden, Austin Jackson, Trevor Hayes, Evan Jackson, and Cody Atwell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Millsap, Walter Shepherd, Claude Hatley, Bill Harris, Terry Lewis, Billy Joe McGee, Chester Fisher, John Parrish, Doug McKinney, David Hoyle, Wayne Whitlock, and Kenny Edwards.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 8, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren.
