

Jimmy Don Smith, 79, of Alma, passed away Friday, October 17, 2025 in Alma. He was born September 28, 1946 in Fort Smith to the late Raymond and Mamie Smith. He was a builder for 30 years and an insurance adjuster for 15 years. He was the longest member of Concord Baptist Church, a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Ann Arnold and Brenda Reed; four brothers, Cleo Smith, Eddie Smith, Clyde Smith and Gerald Dean Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Ralphaline Smith; a daughter, Dustin Dooly and husband Steven; a son, Jamie Smith and wife Tara; four sisters, Barbara Patton, Wanda Meadors, Edith Harvey, and Shirlene Carter; as well as nine grandchildren, Hanna Smith, Anna Kate Dooly, Alex Smith, Dania Dooly, Barrett Dooly, Holly Smith, Bryce Dooly, Heather Smith, and Avi Dooly.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 20, 2025 at Concord Baptist Church with burial to follow at Gill Cemetery under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Jamie Smith, Alex Smith, Steven Dooly, Barrett Dooly, Bryce Dooly, and Randy Arnold. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Harvey, Todd Patton, Ronald Reed, Allen Tumminello, John Inge, Ted Burkhart, and David Linton.
The family will visit with friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 2025, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
