Joseph Bruce Carter

Joseph Bruce Carter, 89, of Alma, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023 in Van Buren. He was born September 3, 1934 in Alma to the late Alex and Callie (Gregory) Carter. He retired from Ozark Power Plant, and was dearly loved by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-, and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Hunter; and a granddaughter, Misty Jackson.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Carter of the home; a daughter, Debra Finney and husband Charles of Mulberry; a son, Bobby Carter and wife Peggy of Oklahoma; a brother, Robert Carter of Fort Smith; five grandchildren, Summer Ackerman, Joseph Carter, Spring Carter, Chris Carter, and Kelly Carter; twenty-one great-grandchildren, and eleven great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 18, 2023 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at New Cemetery in Mulberry, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

Pallbearers will be Charles Finney, Randy Ackerman, Zachary Keith, Shannon Keith, Jessie Brown, Chris Carter, and Pete Alls. Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Robinett and Larry Hunter.

The family will visit with friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 17, 2023, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
