She is the last sibling of six children of the Carr family. She was married to E.L. Redding for nearly 72 years and stood solidly by his side in partnership serving God and people to the best of her ability.
She was the Women’s Director for the Arkansas District Pentecostal Church of God for 20 years and served as a pastor’s wife and mentor to dozens of women. She was a phenomenal prayer warrior who amazed many by her connection with God and ability to receive answers to her prayers.
At the age of 81, she and her husband placed over 100 plants around this church, the River of Life Fellowship. She endeared herself to many people treating everyone as a special friend. She wrote thousands of cards of sympathy, get well, birthday and anniversaries to even people she hardly knew. She was guilty of often sending thank you cards to people giving them thanks for sending her a thank you card. She attended dozens of funerals of people she did not even know. She always had a kind word for everyone, and we can say we have never seen her treat anyone without respect and dignity. She treated homeless and destitute people like they were special. When someone missed several weeks of church attendance because of sickness or discouragement, she would often bake a pie and deliver it to them showing the love of Jesus. We told her, “You are going to have to stop doing this because you are encouraging people to miss church” (LOL).
Even to the age of 88, she took people much younger than her to their doctor’s appointments and took their clothes to her house to wash while they were sick. She could always be found with a bottle of anointing oil in her purse to pray for the sick she would visit at the hospital and nursing home. Wow! We will miss her but know her reward in heaven will be unbelievable.
Survivors include three sons, Phil (Sharon), Bob (Sherry), and James (Mandy); brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Ada, Linzie and Dorma, and Gene and Joyce, ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and many close friends from around the world.
