Loretta Annette Knox, 83, of Mountainburg, passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025 at her home. She was born July 1, 1941 in Mountainburg to the late Aubrey and Ruth Marie (Parker) Rye. She served her country in the U.S. Navy. Loretta worked in the home health senior care industry, and loved fishing and traveling. She was a member of Oliver Springs Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Angela Rae Knox and infant girl, Loretta Knox; two sons, Billy Gene Knox and B.R. Knox, Jr.; three sisters, Betty Walls, Velma LaRue, and infant twin-sister, Baby Girl Rye; and six brothers, Aubrey Rye, Jr., Bill Rye, R.B. Rye, Quincy Rye, Carlos Rye, and Douglas Rye.
She is survived by three brothers, Kenneth Rye and Joe Dan Rye, both of Mountainburg, and Dwight Rye of Hot Springs; five grandchildren, Samantha Knox of Mountainburg, Billy Jack Williams of Van Buren, Benjamin Knox of Mountainburg, Aubrey Thomas of Mountainburg, and Alicia Brammer of Mountainburg; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 31, 2025 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Alma, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Dana Wilkinson, Dave Wilkinson, Billy Jack Williams, Benjamin Knox, Samantha Knox, and Natasha Hamilton.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
