

Marilyn Gayle Stockburger, 76, of Rudy, passed away Tuesday, May 13, 2025 in Fort Smith. She was born April 30, 1949 in Fort Smith to the late Reeves and Margie (Harvell) Dillon. She had been a dispatcher for the Fort Smith Police Department, and a school bus driver and substitute teacher for the Alma School District.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Bob Ross.
She is survived by her husband, David Stockburger of the home; three sons, Bryan Stockburger and wife Jen of Bowman, ND, Bill Stockburger of Rudy, and Bradley Stockburger and wife Jeanne of Dyer; a sister, Carolyn “Suzie” Ross of Greenwood; a brother, Dub Dillon and wife Rhonda of Hot Springs; seven grandchildren, Dallas Stockburger (Travis), Preston Stockburger (Stacey), Kevin Fagan (Hannah), Chance Lister (Ashley), Dillon Stockburger (Alyssa), Kennedy Stockburger (Si), and Jake Stockburger; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two nieces, Mitzi Scherrey and Shiloh Place.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 16, 2025 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Newberry Cemetery in Alma, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
Pallbearers will be Chance Lister, Dillon Stockburger, Kevin Fagan, Brad Morrison, Micheal Malone, and Frankie Mayhew. The men of the 81 Freewill Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will visit with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
