

M. Nadine White, 92, of Van Buren, AR, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012 in Van Buren, AR. She was born January, 30, 1920 in Bartlesville, OK. She was the fourth of seven children of Isaac and Rosa Brown Alexander. Her family moved to Cedarville/Rudy, Arkansas area in 1922. She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Rosa Alexander; sisters Gladys Alexander, Lillian Oliver, Francis Mueller, Jerrie Widener, Anna Bell Kelly; a brother, Nelson Alexander.
Nadine attended Mountain View School and after consolidation and graduated from Cedarville High School in 1938. She was a member of the first girls’ basketball team at Cedarville High School.
In 1939 Nadine and Jack White were married and to this union were born three daughters, Linda, Sherry and Karen. Nadine considered the White family as her family also.
In her early teens Nadine gave her life to Christ. She was active in many church activities and taught Sunday school at Kenner Chapel Baptist Church, Cedarville Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Van Buren, and Southside Baptist Church of Alma. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church at Alma where she enjoyed the preaching of her son-in-law, Tom Steward.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda DeShazo and her husband Charles of Rudy, AR, Sherry McCarthy and her husband Dave of Fulton, MO and Karen Steward and her husband Tom of Alma, AR; a brother, Joe Alexander and his wife Wanda of Van Buren, AR; a sister-in-law, Bessie Alexander of Alma, AR and many nieces and nephews; five grandchildren, DeWite DeShazo of Rudy, AR, Charla Parrish and her husband David of Alma, AR, Lynn Wight of Alma, AR, Shilo Blackwell and her husband Kelly of Alma, AR, Bret Carter and his wife Megan of Kirkwood, MO; nine great grandchildren, Dustin, Dillon and Dax DeShazo of Rudy, AR, Ryan and Mason Wight of Alma, AR, Sydney and London Blackwell of Alma, AR, Jack and Liam Carter of Kirkwood, MO.
Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 30, 2012 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel in Van Buren, AR with private burial at Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren, AR under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR. The family will visit with friends in the chapel immediately following the funeral service.
Pallbearers will be DeWite DeShazo, Bret Carter, Dustin DeShazo, Dillon DeShazo, Dax DeShazo, Ryan Wight and Mason Wight.
Honorary Pallbearers will be nieces and nephews.
