Robert Rice

Robert Rice, 75, of Van Buren, passed away Monday, August 8, 2016 in Fort Smith. He was born December 22, 1940 in Olyphant, AR to the late Robert and Zula Rice. He was a retired landscaper from Sharum’s Landscaping, and was an avid fisherman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Jean Rice, and a brother, Sim Rice.

He is survived by his companion, Georgia Bowlin of the home; three daughters, Sherry Ann Hensley of Mountainburg, and Robin Grimmett and Kathy Stewart both of Alma; six sons, Stanley Rice of Van Buren, Shannon Riddle of Alma, Ronnie Rice of London, and Leon, Danny and Cliff Bowlin all of Van Buren; two sisters, Mary Smith of Heber Springs, and Ruby Cordova of Alma; a brother, Billy Rice of Alma; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren

Funeral service will be 11:00 Thursday, August 11, 2016 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

Pallbearers will be Frank Sharum, Sonny Grimmett, Stanley Rice, Josh Rice, Charlie Hatman, and Jeff Hensley.

The family will visit with friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home, 4100 Alma Highway, Van Buren, AR.
