Thomas Lee Perry, 60, of Alma, passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 in Fort Smith. He was born April 24, 1957 in Merced, CA to the late Emmett and Bonnie Perry. He was the owner/operator of Tom Perry Landscaping & Stonework. Tom’s heart was so full of love for the gift of life and he tried to share this love to everyone and everything he touched. His ever-present motto for the past few years was “I feel great...I just can’t breathe”...and he really did feel great...and felt so very grateful for each breath he was given. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Butch, Ed, and Bob.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Perry of the home; three daughters, Amber Leigh Shipman and husband Jamison of Alma; Rachel Suzanne Martin and husband Aaron of Alma, and Camryn Elizabeth Perry and companion, James Batura of Alma; a son, Seth Isaiah Perry and wife Megan of Lowell; two brothers, Jimmy “Jabo” Perry of Little Rock, and Johnny Ray Perry of Bryant; and six grandchildren, Alora Perry, Nick Shipman, Malia Shipman, Elias Wolfe, Piper Wolfe, and Mae Belle Perry; and soon to be born granddaughter, Marion Darling Perry (June 2018), and his first great-grandchild, Bradley Thomas Brown (August 2018).
In keeping with Tom’s wishes, a celebration of his life will be held at his beloved cabin...his “happy place” on the Mulberry River, north of Ozark. An all-day celebration is being planned for Saturday, April 14, 2018, beginning at 10 am and lasting through Sunday for those who would like to camp out overnight. Everyone is invited. Please feel free to drop in for a few minutes or plan to spend the entire weekend if you prefer. Bring your musical instruments, your lawn chairs, and your favorite memories of Tom to share with all of those attending. Lunch will be provided, the air will be filled with laughter, music, and happy hearts will be overflowing with the collective love of our gentle “flower-child.” [Address for GPS is 21536 Whispering Pine Lane, Ozark, Arkansas, 72949, or call 479-651-6187 for directions.] Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.
