Willis Ray Ging

Willis Ging, 91, of Van Buren, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. The three greatest loves of his life were his lord and savior, Jesus Christ, his wife Joyce of 70 years, and his children and grandchildren. Willis was an active member of Butterfield Assembly in Van Buren. He was noted for his Sunday school teaching for many years. Willis was known as Papaw and had a sense of humor. He kept us all on our toes with his teasing. His hobbies included woodworking, studying the Bible, reading, and growing flowers.

He is survived by his loving family which includes his wife, Joyce; son, Mark Ging and wife Leslie, daughter, Lois Capper and husband Ron (RC), and son, Roger Ging and wife Lynda. Willis is also survived by fifteen wonderful grandkids and twenty-eight great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

A family-hosted Celebration of Life will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 14, 2025 at Butterfield Church. Cremation is under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren, AR.

The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the church, 1302 North 30th Street in Van Buren.
