Sopheap Pok

December 7, 1979 – June 3, 2014

Sopheap is the beloved son of Som Meach and Phean Plai, brother to Sophan, Sophea, Sopha, Sophart, and Sopaul, uncle to Michael and Daryn, nephew to An and Loeuy, and cousin to Phala.

He was born on the border of Cambodia and Thailand during the Khmer Rouge. His journey with his family brought him to Southern California where he lived for most of his life. It was in his nature to be gentle, kindhearted and giving to family and friends. He was trustworthy and dependable. He loved watching sports, especially the Dodgers, Lakers, and Anaheim Ducks. He enjoyed going to amusement parks, reading Stephen King books, and video games were part of his life since the Nintendo era. His favorite shows and movies included Firefly, Dr. Who, The Simpsons, 24, House, Married with Children, the Walking Dead, and Serenity. Sopheap brings the family together every Christmas to watch A Christmas Story and It's a Wonderful Life. He was talented and skilled with the pencil, creating such great drawings. You could not escape hearing him sing if you were in the car with him, for he loved music. He lived his life with happiness and serenity, bringing family together and cherishing the happy moments of life.

Sopheap was loved by his family and friends. As he would say, “Stay shiny, keep flyin’!” He will be deeply missed.
