Barry Eugene Cordocedo
Sunrise: June 2, 1945 – Sunset: February 21, 2026
It is with deep sadness that we advise the passing of our dear elder Barry Eugene Cordocedo. He was born to his late parents Marjorie (nee: Miranda) and Louie Cordocedo on June 2, 1945 at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, BC. Barry grew up in North Vancouver. He attended Delbrook Secondary School. He also took Law and Accounting at SFU. He was a hard worker. Barry started his working career on the docks as a longshoreman. He went on to work for the Fisheries and Ocean Department as an officer then a Community Advisor. Some notable accomplishments: helped with the “Bringing Salmon Back” initiatives up the coast; helped hatcheries increase their yield; and helped rebuild habitat for the salmon to come back home. He was recognized by the Minister for all his years of hard work. Barry was also an entrepreneur. He started a clothing company, “Rez Sports.” He was a kind, gentle man. Barry enjoyed dancing. Watching sports was one of his favourite pass times. He met his wife and they rescued animals together, bunnies, cats, dogs, deer, and eagles. His children fondly remember having animals all their lives. Barry had two children whom he loved dearly. While being a workaholic he always made sure they knew they had a safe place to come back home to. Barry will best be remembered for his smile, great sense of humour, and being notorious for doing impressions of everybody.
Barry will be deeply missed by his children Ryan Sean Cordocedo(Jackie), Tehlia Celeste Cordocedo(Logan); grandchildren Juniper Rose Mary Cordocedo-Drackett, Beornheard ‘Bear’ Logan Louie Cordocedo-Drackett; wife Florence Gwyn Cordocedo; his cat C.B special friends Dave Clough, Mike McKinney, Larry McKinney, Jody Broomfield, Otto; and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
