It is with both sadness and fond memories that we announce the passing of Fung Bo-Chor, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on Saturday the 22nd, February 2025.
Born the youngest of his family, Bo-Chor was a man with an adventurous spirit and a deep love for his family. He and his wife shared 63 years of marriage and together raised three children. His love for his children was immeasurable, and in his later years, he took great joy in caring for his five grandchildren, helping them grow with love and care.
Bo-Chor dedicated more than 30 years of his life to civil service as a structural engineer, ensuring that buildings and bridges stood strong and steady, much like the foundation of support he built for his family. In 1995 he retired from his full-time position but never truly stopped working, as he took great joy in becoming a full time Grandpa.
In his younger days, Bo-Chor enjoyed hiking with his children on the many trails around Hong Kong, a hobby he continued in Vancouver. As a man of adventurous spirit, Bo-Chor had a deep love for traveling and exploring exotic places. He was passionate about seeing the wonders of the world and immersed himself in the cultures and landscapes of many countries. He was also known for his love of singing, even though he often sang a little off-key. His heart was full of joy, and he shared that joy with those around him, regardless of the tune.
Bo-Chor will be deeply missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A visitation will be held at Hamilton Harron Funeral Home, located at 5390 Fraser Street, Vancouver, BC, V5W 2Z1, on March 14, 2025, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at the same location from 10:00 am to 11:00 am.
