

VAN DYKE, Donald John - Sep. 22, 1931 - Dec. 21, 2019. It is with sad hearts that the family of Dan Van Dyke (aka Don) share of his passing on Dec. 21st, 2019. While on vacation in Mexico with his best friend Carol, Dan had a fall that resulted in severe head trauma. Dan was predeceased by the love of his life Pat his wife of 57 years, his beloved son David (Paula), his sister Mary (Doug) and his brother Casey (Jean). Dan is survived by his daughter Donna (Ray), his brother Jack (Diane), his sister-in-law Jean, his daughter-in-law Paula, his 5 grandchildren that he loved dearly: Brianna (Chad), Eryn (Mark), Brandon (Tanya), Vanessa (Calvin), Jesse (Stephanie), his 7 great grandchildren; Jordan, Nathan, Nico, Ryker, Addison, Hailey, Carter and many nieces and nephews. Dan retired from the Vancouver Parks Board at 55 years old after 40 years of service. He began travelling the world with Pat at that time and continued travelling with Carol until his passing. He shared with Brianna that there wasn't a place left on his list to visit. His was a full life that was well lived. He taught us all so much and led by example every single day. Dan will be missed by all that knew him. Please join us in celebrating Dan's life on Saturday, January 18th at 1:00 pm at Hamilton Harron Funeral Home, 5390 Fraser Street, Vancouver.
