Frances Ann Dunn

With heavy hearts we are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Frances Ann Dunn, RN. "Ann" was born December 20, 1935, and lived fully until May 25, 2024. Frances’s memory lives on in the hearts of her three Sons: Ian (Debbie), Bryan (Chisato) and Jonathan (Patricia), three Grandchildren: Hilary, Frances and Edward, and four Great-Grandchildren: Charlotte, Emma, Matthew and Michael; as well as all of those whose lives were indelibly touched by her gentle grace, kindness, compassion, intelligence and love. The family wishes to extend its deep appreciation and respect to the very fine professionals at St. Paul's Hospital & Vancouver General Hospital, for their kindness and expertise in her care. Ann’s gift to the world was her deep love of her Husband, William Lawrie Dunn (1927-2019), her family and all animals – especially dogs & cats. Frances Ann was a devoted Mother whose unyielding faith in her children remains a constant source of inspiration in their lives. Ann shared a profound love of all things living and inanimate in the natural world and an intense passion to understand as much of it as she could in her lifetime & to pass on her wisdom to her children. Frances was a passionate lover of art and literature and, with her Husband, a strong supporter of art and culture wherever she resided. An enthusiastic traveller and creative artist in her own right, Frances loved to appreciate, interpret and paint the world in her own unique way. Her stories will live on brightly forever in all of our hearts. A private service for family will be held on Friday, May 31 , 2024. In lieu of gifts or flowers, donations may be made to the BC SPCA in her name at 604-681-7271.
