

Born on April 12, 1975, at North York Hospital in Toronto, Ontario, under the skilled care of a compassionate doctor, Ian’s arrival was marked by both divine providence and a memorable story his family would cherish forever.
When a nurse first presented a baby to his mother, Idrenne, she immediately knew something was not right. With unwavering maternal instinct, she declared, “That’s not my baby!” Sure enough, upon checking, the baby bore an Italian-sounding name. When another infant was brought in moments later, Idrenne’s eyes lit up and she exclaimed, “That’s my baby!” On his back label it was written clearly: Ian Patrick Lim-Alparaque.
From his very first moments, Ian was claimed with certainty, love, and purpose. As Scripture reminds us in Job 1:21, “The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”
Though Ian’s earthly journey ended on January 23, 2026, in Vancouver, British Columbia, just shy of his 51st birthday, his love, creativity, and spirit remain woven into the hearts of his family and community. Ian was a gifted singer, a passionate artist, a lover of nature, and a prolific writer. He saw beauty where others might not, expressed truth with sincerity, and shared his heart openly through his creative work. His presence carried warmth, reflection, and depth.
He was a precious son to Idrenne and Marius; a beloved brother to Dale (Jenny) and Mizella (Barry); and a proud and loving uncle to Mehkia, Darius, Kymani, Kaius and Koen.
His family will forever cherish his laughter, his gentleness, his talents, and the quiet strength of his love. Through this work, his voice, creativity, and compassion continue to make a digerence.
Ian, you were — and always will be — a noble and gracious gift from God. Your song lives on.
