

Funeral services for Yianni will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mount Pleasant Universal Funeral Home, 306 East 11th Ave. Vancouver, BC V5T 2C6 and on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM, St. Nicholas and Demitrios, 4541 Boundary Road, Vancouver, BC V5R2N5. Yianni will be laid to rest in Greece.
Ioannis Sachinides who was called by his family and friends as "Yianni" was indeed loving, compassionate, trustworthy, selfless, and motivate, inspire, and encourage others. He will be remembered by his family and friends for friendly and generous nature. He was a person who always carried a strong sense of duty with him throughout his life. Possessed with traditional “old school” morals, Yianni was an individual who clearly communicated to those around him just who he was and what he was all about. Everyone acquainted with Yianni knew him as sociable and well-respected man.
Yianni was born in Greece. He was raised with seven siblings and he was the youngest. As a youngster, Yianni volunteered to serve at his local church for 9 years. His faith in God see him through at his battle of cancer. He placed his own personal faith and trust in Jesus.
God blessed him with two children, Theodora and Ian. Yianni was ever watchful of his children. He worried about them and was deeply concerned for their development as they grew up.
Being a hard worker who praised efficiency, Yianni was always striving to make improvements where they were necessary. He worked diligently and cooperatively. In both his personal and professional environments, Yianni upheld his standards. His primary occupation was a painter. He had his own company "Dora-J Painting Ltd.". Yianni was a team player who certainly lived out the motto of “give me a job, and I will get it done.”
Playing by the rules was a natural thing for Yianni to do in life and that carried over to his enjoyment of sports. Recreational sports included Soccer. He also was something of a sports fan and enjoyed watching his favorite events whenever he got the opportunity.
When it came time to travel or take a vacation, Ioannis used his scheduling expertise to make sure everyone and everything was ready to go. Favourite vacations included Osoyoos, Greece and the Philippines. Nevertheless, Osoyoos' warmth lake made Yianni came back numerous times. He loved Osoyoos.
Yianni fought a brave battle against cancer. He is survived by his wife, Mayreen; his daughter Theodora and son, Ian.
All who knew him would agree that Yianni was a pillar of his family. He lived his life with his feet firmly on the ground. He was willing to share his ideas and knowledge for the benefit of others, so that they could accomplish more in their lives. Ioannis "Yianni" Sachinides did his best to ensure that his family, friends, loved ones, co-workers, and everyone whose life he touched was given the chance to become a better person.
Revelation 21:4 "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
