"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jim Peters on October 29, after a long struggle with declining health.

Always the consummate salesman Jim lived his life with great enthusiasm and joy. He had a deep love and appreciation for his family, especially his wife of 60 years Joyce, the true love of his life. When he became a grandpa it was the icing on the cake for Dad as he spent countless delightful hours with Kevin and Jen.

His life long passion was jazz which drew him in as a young musician in the late 1940’s. Jim frequented many of Vancouver’s great jazz venues over the decades. He truly was in his happy place when enjoying a beer with friends or family and listening to this soulful music.

Jim was also highly respected throughout a long and successful career in the food industry including 15 plus years with the Quaker Oats Company. He eventually formed his own sales agency, and then finally retired as a partner at Star Marketing.

Jim will forever be lovingly remembered by his wife Joyce, children Chris (Laurel) Karen (Richard) and Monty (Lori), grandchildren Kevin and Jen, and sister Marlene Trussell.

We invite family and friends to celebrate Jim’s life at an open house on Thursday November 10th at Monty’s home from 3 to 6 pm. Family members may be contacted for details.”
