veteran of the Canadian Navy. He met the love of his life,
Alice Morrison, while serving in Ireland, and they were wed
in Wells, BC, after the war. They were happily married for
63 years.
A man of strong conviction who believed in hard work, fair
play, and dealing honestly with others, he was a member of
the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace
Workers for more than 50 years.
Joe and Alice enjoyed being a part of the horse racing

visit was Hawaii, and they spent many relaxing vacations
in the Islands.
Most of all, Joe loved his family. He was pre-deceased by
his beloved Alice, who died in March, 2009. He is survived
by his daughter Alanna Nichols (Dan), grandchildren
Adam (Catherine), Luke (Nina), Matthew (Amanda), Miriam
Crow (David), his sister-in-law Norah Morrison, nephew Jim
Morrison (Sue), niece Janice Macalister (Jamie) and ten great-
grandchildren.
Joe was deeply loved by his family, and will be sorely missed.
A reception will be held at Glenhaven Memorial Chapel, 1835 East
Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC on Wednesday, July 11 from
