Born on May 22, 1960, in Kitimat, BC, Krista spent most of her childhood in Vancouver, where her love of learning and strong sense of community began to take root. She later attended the University of Victoria. Krista went on to become a respected employee at the University of British Columbia, where she worked for many years.
Krista survives with her beloved spouse, Awad, with whom she shared a life filled with love, partnership, and private times together.
She will be remembered for her grace and good deeds. and her generosity extended beyond, when she decided to take on the role of supporting (Hanan) Awad’s niece who lives in Sudan from the day she was born until her dying day. And she also had a close friendship with Eileen, a friend of 15 years.
