Leo Hubert Meers

Hubert Leon Herman Meers passed away on November 20, 2024 at Vancouver General Hospital at the age of 63.

Leo (Hubert) was born in Brussels, Belgium on December 15, 1961. Leo and his family immigrated to Canada in 1966 and settled in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Leo (Hubert) served his Military term in the Belgium Army.

Leo loved animals, especially his dog Obbie. She was his best friend and he took her everywhere with him. He enjoyed bicycle rides and took Obbie with him to run beside him.

Leo had a natural talent for fixing anything mechanical. He was also very artistic. He was kind and generous and very well-liked by all he met throughout his life.

He will be dearly missed.

Leo is predeceased by his mother, Maria Meers- Janssen and his father, Theodore (Joe) Meers. He is survived by his son, Kevin Papanicolaou-Meers and family; his sister Dora O’Brien (Fred Gauthier); his brother Freddy Biebaut (Dee); his many cousins; and Samantha Perrault, his dear friend of many years.
