

Louis John Small, the son of Alice and John Small. Born in Manitoba in September, 1940. Louis passed away at Point Grey Private Hospital on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2021. Lou grew up in multiple places and had fond memories of wherever he went.
Starbuck Manitoba, Picton Ontario, but called BC his home.
He served in the Canadian Military in Churchill, Manitoba as a weather radio communications officer.
He worked for Eatons in Winnipeg, Manitoba as a sales clerk and data entry clerk. He worked for Workers Compensation Board until he retired 23 years ago.
Lou studied at the University of Saskatchewan and graduated with a teaching degree and taught in China for four years, English as a second language.
Lou volunteered in Vancouver, helping elementary children overcome their cultural differences.
His favorite activities were camping, fishing, canoeing, building model airoplanes, and he loved to travel around the world with his wife Ofelia.
Lou is survived by his wife Ofelia, first wife Jean Kalymiuk, youngest son Patrick Small, daughter Michelle (Krissy Taylor), oldest Jim Small, sister Marlene Vivanco.
Lou was predeceased by sister Charlotte Mullen and Nephew Kenny Mullen.
Lou passed away from final stages of dementia peacefully with Ofelia by his side. He will be clearly missed and treasured by numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and workmates, here and abroad who truly loved him.
He will be missed and always remembered.
