
It is with deep sadness that the family of Luis Salvador Rivera announces his passing after a brief illness at the age of 78, at Vancouver General Hospital surrounded by his family. He will be lovingly remembered and survived by his sons Chito and Christopher and their mother, Bern. Luis is survived by his sisters Maria Luisa and Carol. He is fondly remembered by Maria Luisa’s family in the Phillippines and Carol’s family: husband Kiran, daughter Kerry and her son, Stephen; Kri Kri, her husband Walter and their daughter, Cadence, that reside in Alberta, Canada and son, Keril and his wife Janice and their daughter, Allegra that reside in New Jersey, USA. Luis is also survived by his neice Simone and nephew Patrick and their families that reside in B.C., Canada. He is predeceased by his parents, Luis and Emiliana and his sister Luisita.
Luis was born in Murcia, Negros Occidental on December 21, 1941. He graduated from Negros Occidental High School in 1958. He attended the Araneta University in Manilla with a degree in agriculture. He came to Canada in early 1970, where he then lived in Elliott Lake and Mississauga, Ontario before moving to Vancouver, British Columbia.
Due to the current gathering situation, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
