

Ms. Melissa Edlyn Ebony Fleming was born on December 7, 1978, in Lytton, British Columbia, to Eunice Paul and Roy Charlie, and passed away on January 23, 2024, in Surrey, British Columbia, at the age of 45 years. Melissa will be remembered most for her loving and generous nature and her beautiful smile. She faced many challenges in her short life, but she cared deeply about others, often putting their needs before her own. She was proud of her Indigenous heritage and so very proud to see her daughter, Cheyenne, graduate as a social worker. Melissa will be forever loved and remembered by her adoptive and biological extended families as a beautiful soul who brought immense joy into our lives.
Melissa is survived by her daughter Cheyenne Fleming, adoptive sisters Monique Lee, Marnie Searle, and Nikki Fleming, adoptive mother, Ann Chandler, and loving adoptive aunties, uncles and cousins, as well as her biological family, brother Dennis Paul, and numerous loving aunties, uncles, and cousins. She is predeceased by parents Eunice Paul and Roy Charlie, and adoptive father, Paul Fleming.
