So incredibly sad and a tremendous loss. I saw Norm at our 25 year high school reunion and was struck by what a kind and gentle man he still was. I could tell on Facebook how incredibly happy he was being a husband and dad. My deepest sympathy to his entire family.

Norman was such a great friend to so many. I remember sharing many laughs and fun times with Norm. Until we can do the Time Warp again.....Ali

So sorry for your loss -- such sad news.  I remember Norman as the goofy kid on my school bus oh so many years ago going to Blueberry Community School -- yes, that was the schools name.  I remember vividly he & his family surviving their house burning down BUT after all he went thru... laughing & smiling still.  Loved seeing the pictures of his life..as a husband & dad.  I remember him as pic #32.   Years on a bus when you go to a country school.  Take care of you & your beautiful daughter.

its hard to believe your gone. god called you home to soon. I know your the most beautiful part of his garden now. I have known you for over 6 yrs and its hard not to text you or call.. you had a wonderful gift of making people Smile. you will be missed by all. forever. God broke the mold when he made Norm . We will not  be  able  to  come  to  the  funeral  on Saturday. As we live in Ontario. Norm  was  such  a  great person  and smile  was out of  this  world. We are really  in shock  still. My husband  worked for  James  Hanson in carpet. I met Norm on a bowling  league  in Toronto. Great  guy.Gonna miss you. RIP Norm.

There aren't enough words to accurately convey the monumental loss of sweet Norm. I consistently catch myself thinking it's all been a bad dream. I've loved and looked up to you for 26 years, Norm. Your heart, your energy and passion for life inspires everyone feeling this loss. Shannon, Tiauna, Val and Xander, you have our most heartfelt sympathy and love. You've gained all of Norm's family by choice. Norm has lead his life by example; love big, make connections, leave memorable impressions, say yes and find your joy. Until we see one another, my sweet friend.

That smile says it all Norm.  You just wanted people to have a little more fun, so your answer was the lead the party.

What a terrible shock to hear of Norm's passing. Norm felt like part of our family.  He even called me Mom. I made a point of seeing him each time he came to Edmonton to visit Rebecca. He was such a beautiful man in every way.  I never knew Norm to say a mean word about anyone.  He always cared how you were, always had a huge smile on his face and truly was happy and pleasant all the time.  I send my deepest condolences to his loving wife, sweet daughter and all other family members. You will be dearly missed.

I'm very saddened that I never had a chance to met Shannon and Tiauna.  I've known Norm since 1991 when we met at a common friends wedding.  Norm and I remained friends, and he returned to attend my wedding where we was residing in Ontario 10 years later.  Norm was a genuine person who put everyone first.  He was always the life of a party with his infectious smile, and fun loving personality.  When I heard of his passing, the world seemed a little less bright that day.  Thank you Norm for all you gave - which was a lot!  The world needs more Norm's in it.  Rest in peace my friend.

Norm will be so missed by so many people! He was always so much fun and that smile of his could light up a room!! He was thoughtful and caring and really funny too. That guy had a million good qualities.  I wish so badly that Ben and Cameron and I could be there to say goodbye. Thinking of all of you... xo

Norm was one of my longest and best friends.  We met on a grassy field in 1984, grade 9 at Stony Plain Junior High.  It was lunch break and a group of us were going to play some touch football.  We quickly became friends and spent a lot of time riding our bicycles and headed to the out door swimming pool.  We stayed good friends after school and for the next 30 years became more brothers than anything.  His smile, his caring for his friends, always willing to get together and have a good time were hallmarks of who Norm was.  At parties he always had the makings for Jeagerbombs, nothing like a shot and some redbull to get you drunk.  Phone calls and text messages and facebook posts were how most of us talked to Norm over the last few years.  His love for Shannon and Tiuanna was one that kept him home.  He would do anything for them.  We all respected him for that and for him settling down.  WHen I got the call from Val and then Shannon I was in disbelief, still over a week later I'm still not sure it's real.  His loss has us all in shock, we love Norm.  We will never forget Norm.  That love for him will be love for his wife and daughter, Shannon and Tiaunna.  Thank you  Brian Petersen

Norm and I were together in cmbc training class then together in north Vancouver depot. He was such a nice person, always smiling. He used to say "I don't like to drive empty bus, I love people, more people in my bus makes me happy ". I miss him alot. He will stay in our hearts forever
