It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Pietro Morlin, aged 87. Pietro passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on October 29, 2025. Born on May 3, 1938 in Caerano San Marco, Treviso, Italy. Pietro immigrated to Canada with his young family in 1970 and made Vancouver his home for 55 years, where he built a life rooted in family, friendship, and community and worked proudly for the Waterworks department at the City of Vancouver for 28 years.
He was a devoted husband to Amelia for 62 wonderful years and proud and loving father to daughters Alfonsina (Donald), Vilma, and Silvana. His legacy continues through his cherished grandsons, Brandon (Maggie) and Nicholas, and his beloved great-granddaughter Aria.
Pietro found joy in the simple pleasures of life - tending to his garden, making wine and spending time socializing and playing cards with friends and family. He was a loyal friend, always ready to lend a hand or share a laugh. His warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Lorenzon, Dr. Sayao, Dr. Rusnak, his case worker, Miranda Donaghue, and the dedicated home support workers from Vancouver Coastal Health for their exceptional care and compassion during Pietro's illnesses.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 11 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm at Glenhaven Memorial Chapel, 1835 East Hastings Street, Vancouver. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Pietro on Wednesday, November 12 at 11:00 am at Sacred Heart Parish, 897 Keefer Street, Vancouver. Entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson Society British Columbia or the Alzheimer Society of British Columbia in Pietro's memory.
