It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Sew Young Jang (nee Wong) at the age of 78 years. Sew Young passed away suddenly at Vancouver General Hospital on May 22, 2016 with her family by her bedside.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the team of caring Doctors, Nurses, and staff at VGH.

She is predeceased by her late husband Timmie Jang. Married for fifty-nine years, they had four children, Victor Jang/daughter-in-law, Sarah, Nina Soo/son-in-law, Ed; Amy Jang, and Douglas Jang/daughter-in-law, Linda; ten grandchildren; three great grandchildren.

Sew Young was born in Guangzhou, China, the third eldest of seven siblings; she will be fondly remembered for her charisma, determination, thoughtfulness, and her beautiful happy smile.

Sew Young’s strength, kindness, friendliness, compassion and resilience will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

She will be forever present in the hearts of those that knew and loved her.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Glenhaven Memorial Chapel, 1835 East Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, where a Funeral service will be held on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 9:00 am. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby, BC. Arrangements entrusted to Glenhaven Memorial Chapel, Vancouver, BC. 604.255.5444.
