Sin Tak Wong

It is with great sadness that we announce our husband, father, and grandfather, Sin Tak Wong, passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, on 4 July 2021 at Richmond Hospital at the age of 91. Sin Tak was born in Ningbo, China on 20 March 1930. He moved to Hong Kong in his teenage years and worked in a big pharmacy. He married Chi Lan Choy in 1955 and ran his own business until his retirement in 1990. Sin Tak and Chi Lan migrated to Canada in 1994, where they resided in Richmond, BC. They enjoyed close to 27 years of happy retirement, occasionally returning to Hong Kong to visit family. Sin Tak had three grandchildren (two granddaughters and one grandson).

Sin Tak was a Christian and was baptised as a child. He was kind and generous to his family, friends, and neighbours. He worked diligently at his job, raising his two children, Kin Wai and Kin Tung, and putting them through college. Although he received little formal education, he never failed to learn new things.

Sin Tak is at rest now and may his memory live on through all those that knew him. Funeral service will be held on Monday, 12th of July at 3:00 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Universal Funeral Home, 306 East 11th Avenue, Vancouver BC V5T 2C6. Due to Covid-19 Pandemic, service will be private and guests will be by invitation only.
