

Tadanori “Mas” Masuda, born August 16, 1946, age 75, passed away on Saturday April 30, 2022 after a battle with cancer. Born in Mihara-shi, Hiroshima, Japan, Tadanori immigrated to Canada in 1972. After a few years working on fishing vessels, he then began working in construction and eventually started his own company specializing in Japanese design, Masuda Construction. He worked for over 40 years in the industry until his recent retirement. He will be remembered for his craftsmanship, generosity, his love for the game of golf, and unconditional love for his granddaughters and lifelong friends at home and back in Japan.
Predeceased by his parents, Genichi and Yoshino, eldest brother Koushi, and daughter Maria. Survived by his wife, Kazuko; sons Hugo (Rachelle) and Daniel (Catherine), sisters Reiko and Katsuko and granddaughters Matisse Maiko, Naomi Maria, and Miya Yukari.
The family is having a private memorial to remember Tadanori. In lieu of flowers, donations in the name of Tadanori Masuda to the Vancouver Buddhist Temple or Vancouver Japanese Language School would be greatly appreciated.
Tadanori will be lovingly remembered by his family. We love you Jiji!
