This was the last photo taken at May's place with my mother and Mrs Loo sharing a happy dinner. It was so good to see these old folks smiling and having a good chat.  They were best friends. They always phoned each other and shared their thoughts.  My mom passed 4 years ago, Mrs Loo said she missed her a lot. Now they are in a happy place, hope they can catch up as they used to.

My sincerest condolences and sympathies to Bing, Lawrence, David, May, and families. Our families have known Yip Tao Loo aka Kit Sum in the early 1960's where they had a successful business in Toorak Street, Suva, Fiji Is. Growing up in Rakiraki Ra, I get to visit Suva (the Capital) and always found Kit Sum to be kind and gentle natured true to her tradition and values, which shaped her tightly close knit families what it is today.

We are so sorry to learn of the passing of  Yip Tao Loo, the matriarch of another Loo family, affectionately known to us as Kit Bu. Our families share  the same journeys for a better life from HoyPing, China to Fiji in the early 1960s then eventually in 1970s to this great country Canada. Kit Bu, a person of gentle demeanour with a steely resolve ,seldom shied away from adversity and always found a way to manage around it.

In her retirement years, Kit Bu’s way of keeping in touch with our Mother, Yung Shau was the telephone. They would chat often of their “good old days of struggle” from China to Fiji to Vancouver and the stories would often be the same and rehashed time and time again. It amazes us how they communicated as both were hard of hearing!  

Kit Bu’s legacy is demonstrated in the success and contribution of her children Bing, Lawrence, David and May.

A life well lived. May Kit Bu rest in peace.

Dear Bing, Emily & family
We are saddened by the news of the passing of your dear Mum.
Our thoughts are with you at present. Please be consoled that she is at peace and not far away -- just entered into a new life and with your Dad.
The years have gone by quickly. Your Mum had always been like an aunt living in the same street and close by in Fiji. Your Mum had such a kind and gentle manner which did not change when your family migrated to Vancouver.
