Yolande Celina Carey

Our Mom passed peacefully, surrounded by family on April 29, 2023 after a lengthy battle with dementia.

Born on August 18, 1928 in Somerset MB, she moved to Vancouver in 1948 after spending a year teaching in northern Manitoba. Yolande and Jack were married in 1951 and had 3 children; Ross (Sandy), Colleen (Doug) and Mark (Tira). She is survived by 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren as well as brothers Gerard and Marcel and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by husband Jack and sisters Denise and Lucille.

Our Mom always enjoyed her work and retired at the age of 71 from the Ambulance Paramedics Union in 2000. She loved watching figure skating and enjoyed gardening and long walks in the neighbourhood she lived in for over 70 years.

Per her wishes there will be no service. In her memory and in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Royal Arch Masonic Homes Funding Society.

Our thanks goes out to the staff of Royal Arch for their kind and compassionate care during her 4 years as a resident.
