Her full life was marked by her dedication to family but also many interests including: cooking; sewing; volunteering at the airport, food bank, and senior centre; cake decorating; lawn bowling; gateball; tai-chi; travel; puzzles; and slots.
Her youth was spent in Vancouver attending Strathcona School and helping in the family grocery store. During the war, Yukie was relocated to Tashme and later spent some time in Montreal before getting married in Winnipeg and settling back in Vancouver and Richmond.
Predeceased by her husband Masaru, Yukie will be missed by her children Orrin, Bonnie (Steve), Anne (Jean), Kane ( Lisa), grandson Cole, and granddog, Kenzo (aka Jake). Many thanks to family, friends and care-workers who helped enrich her life.
A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Richmond Food Bank Society or Vancouver Buddhist Temple.
