
Edna May Hann, 99 of Washougal WA, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2020. She was born on December 16, 1920 in Wanganui, New Zealand to Lewis and Rachel Hambling and graduated from Longburn College while in New Zealand. She worked with medical missionaries for 11 years in Indonesia, Malaysia and Okinawa where she met Dr. Ronald Fordham Hann and they married on September 1, 1947 in Angwin, California.
Edna came to the United States in 1971 and settled in Springville, California where she served as a community organizer. This included being a volunteer for the Sheriff’s Office where she was a counselor to rape victims, serving on the Springville Grand Jury and founding the Springville Apple Festival which continues to be an annual event. Edna and Ron retired in 1996 to Washougal, Washington where they were active members of Riverside Seventh-Day Adventist Church and she became “Nana” to countless youth for many years.
Edna was preceded in death by her husband Ronald in 2011. She is survived by son Warren Hann (Sandi) of Oahu HI; daughters Shirley Rogers (Wes) and Julia Scribner (Greg) of Washougal WA; close cousin Glena Hockley of Hood River OR; grandchildren Cary Hann, Loren Rogers, Linden Rogers, Marshall Rogers, Rachel Scribner and Krista Scribner and great grandchildren Haylie, Breanna, Lily, Atlas and Logan.
A Celebration of Edna’s Life is on hold due to Covid-19. Private inurnment will be at Washougal Memorial Cemetery.
