

Norma Jean Wendt, 80, of Kelso, WA, wife of Frank Wendt passed away after a short battle with cancer on March 11, 2016 in the presence of family. Born on August 18, 1935, in Tulsa, OK she was the daughter of the late Donna (Bachtenkircher) Tedder and Robert Richard Tedder of Wichita, KS.
She attended East High school in Wichita, KS. She was employed at NCR (National Cash Register) for several years before owning several businesses with husband Frank in Branson, MO. After retiring, they spent many years in an RV enjoying life while traveling across the country together. They eventually settled down in Washington where she became an active member of the Lady of the Lakes Quilting Club in Longview/Kelso, WA.
In addition to being an entrepreneur and traveler, she was a loving wife, caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed working with her hands to create beautiful keepsakes from cross stitch and needlework to quilting and gardening, she had a knack for decorating. Norma was incredibly talented and passionate, and above all else, loved her family and friends. She will always be remembered as having infectious laughter and energy.
Norma is also survived by her children, Richard Wendt of Vancouver, WA and Janis Dunlap (Dan), of Olathe, KS, her siblings Sharon Larson (Rick) of Wichita, KS, and Robert Tedder (Bodie) of Anthony, KS, her grandchildren Travis Wendt, Stephen Manning (Megan), Andrew Dunlap, Michelle Dunlap, Ali Wendt and her great grandchildren Tyler Wendt, Emily Wendt, Payton Wendt, Bentley Wendt, Brooklyn Wendt and Blake Wendt. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, the late Cameron Wendt (Kristi).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Norma’s name can be made to the Community Home Health & Hospice in Longview, WA or the American Cancer Society.
