

Richard James Ellis, a lifetime resident of Vancouver, was born November 8, 1937 and died December 23, 2011 at the age of 74. After he completed high school at Vancouver High School, he served in the Navy, worked 30 years for AT&T, and then finished his career at North Star Communication. In addition he also served as a Reserve Deputy for Clark County, Ham Radio Operator, and helped his good friend Bill Simpson with the Oregon International Air Show. One of his most recent hobbies was to create award winning holy day displays that many people enjoyed. He’s lived a good life.
He is survived by his wife Donna of 51 years, two sons Michael and Curtis, four grandchildren, Randi Burdick, Veronica, Richard, Jamie, as well as two great grandchild Hayley and Kadence, all of Vancouver. Richard also enjoyed his friends that he met with for breakfast as often as possible. His service will be held at the Vancouver Funeral Chapel on January 3 at 11:30 followed by a private ceremony at Willamette National Cemetery.
Richard was a great guy and will be missed by all who knew him.
