Rose J "June" Martin

Born on February 14, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois to William and Rose McKeown, June Martin passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Saturday, October 22, 2011 in Vancouver, Washington. She was raised in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Portland during World War II where she worked in the Kaiser Shipyards. For many years she worked with her husband Abe at Abe Martin Real Estate and Insurance in Woodland.

June is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Abe. She is survived by her daughters Kathleen Blecha (Peter), Mary Rychel (Pat), Margaret Tonin (Gabe), grandchildren Hilary, Caitlin, Brianne, Matt, Nick, Alex and great granddaughter Anouk.

The family would like to thank her caregivers at Highgate Senior Living for the wonderful care they provided during the last months of her life.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 11:00am at St. Philip Catholic Church in Woodland. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s cemetery in Ridgefield, Washington.
