The son of Gloria and Charles (Chuck) Norie, Stanley grew up in Southern California. Growing up one of seven children, he enjoyed quality time wrestling his four brothers and taking care of his two sisters. When he was a young teenager he met the love of his life, Nelia. Their young love was beautiful to behold and they were happily married in November 1974. The following year Stanley joined the Air Force and he and Nelia spent the next four years at Edwards Air Force Base. In 1987 Stanley, Nelia and their two children moved to the Pacific Northwest where he’s been proud to call home. Stanley turned to his passions in life; he was a natural farmer, a soulful artist, a dreamer, and a poet with his words. When Stanley spoke, everyone would stop and listen to what he had to say. Stanley was a magnet that drew everyone around him close. He was affectionately called “Stan the Man” and to know him was to love him.
Stan is survived by his loving wife, Nelia; children, Melissa (Christopher) Galland and Robert (Rachael) Norie; grandchildren, Tristan, Gloria, Conner, Brock and Rowan; siblings, Steve, Alma, Charlie, Robin, Mark and Pamela. He was connected heart and soul to many; his family of blood, life, and love.
A celebration of Stan’s life was held Saturday, August 22nd starting at 6:00 PM, at 26011 NE Hanley Rd, Yacolt, Washington 98675.
