Stephen G. Gardner, 71, of Vancouver, WA passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov 24 from a series of strokes. He was born March 9, 1946 in Dallas, TX to George and Theda (Atteberry) Gardner. He grew up in Phoenix and Southern California, then went to the University of Washington where he got his degree in Business Administration.
Over the years, he worked for Crown Zellerbach, Gillette, Andes Candies and a couple smaller companies before finishing his career as co-owner in a candy brokerage business. He loved selling – there wasn’t a product he couldn’t sell, and he relished the challenge.
Steve loved the Washington Huskies and Seattle Seahawks. He was a huge fan of the Pac 12 watching as many games as he could every weekend.
Steve is survived by his wife, Gerrie, brother David Atteberry (Lois Atteberry), cousins Doug & Dennis Williams, Diane Van Inwegen & Denise Diffee.
A Celebration of Life for Steve will be held 2 pm, Thursday, November 30, 2017 at the Vancouver Funeral Chapel, 110 E. 12th St., Vancouver, Washington 98661.
Steve was a big supporter of Gerrie's involvement in Relay for Life and her commitment with the survivors. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Relay For Life for Gerrie Gardner's team: http://main.acsevents.org/goto/gerriegardner
Arrangements under the direction of Vancouver Funeral Chapel, Vancouver, WA.
