

Albert E. Deshaies, 84, of Englewood, FL beloved husband of Jean M. (Callahan) Deshaies passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2021, at Hartford Hospital. Born April 4, 1937, in Hartford son of the late Robert and Celina (Lavigne) Deshaies. Albert proudly served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. Albert and Jean raised their family in Windsor, he was employed by Stanadyne as a tool maker for 25 years before retiring. After retiring, Al and Jean moved to Englewood, FL. Albert was a devote catholic, he was a parishioner of St. Damian of Molokai Parish, St. Gabriel Church when he lived in Windsor and St. Raphael Church in FL. He served as an usher and was a 4th Degree knight with the Knights of Columbus. Al had a love for traveling, visiting every state in the U.S., all over Europe and the Caribbean. He enjoyed camping in Southwick, MA as a snowbird. Al loved to garden, he was an avid Boston Red Sox and UConn Women Huskies fan. Al had the gift of gab! Besides his loving wife, Jean of 59 years, he is survived by his five children, Peggy Deshaies of Windsor, Jeanne Walsh and her husband, Kevin of Windsor, Suzanne Hawran and her husband, John of Windsor, Michael Deshaies of Windsor Locks, Maureen Deshaies and her husband Denis Gervais of Enfield; a brother, Robert Deshaies and his wife, Renee of Stonington; two brothers-in-law, Jack Callahan and wife Kathy of Hebron, Frank Griffiths of Endicott, NY; two sisters-in-law, Kathy Mansir and her husband Joseph of St. Pete, FL, Mary Callahan of Clearwater, FL; eight grandchildren, Robert Meyer and his wife Rebecca, Wm. Tyler Walsh, Michael Deshaies, Colin Walsh, Sean Deshaies, Daniel Walsh, Alyssa Hawran, and Shannon Deshaies. He was predeceased by a sister, Janet Griffiths. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 9th, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Park. Lemon Bay Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Englewood is in charge of arrangements.
