

Bruce was a dedicated member of DeMolay International and proudly served in the 108th Aircraft and Warning Division for the US Air Force Reserves for three years. He built a distinguished career at Carrier Corporation (United Technologies Corporation), working for 35 years as a toolmaker, engineer, and manager in Syracuse. Bruce was a graduate of Blodgett High School and attended Ed Smith School for toolmaking and engineering in Syracuse. He also served on the Camillus, NY, Senior Housing Authority Board for many years and was a board member of the Riverbend fishing community in Naples, Florida, also for several years.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Bruce was deeply involved in his community. He was a coach for South Onondaga Girls and Boys Softball in the town of Camillus, where he inspired many young athletes with his dedication and passion for the sport. Bruce was also a proud member of the Camillus Elks Club, contributing to its mission of community service and fellowship.
Bruce was an avid fisherman, boater, and woodworker. Known for his exceptional skill in fixing and making anything, Bruce was the go-to person for family and friends whenever something broke. If it could be fixed, Bruce could fix it.
He is survived by his loving wife, Diane, and his children: Kathleen (Anthony) Marchese of Naples, FL, Colleen (Dave) Blakeslee of Port Charlotte, FL, and David (Karin) Finney of Sierra Vista, AZ. Bruce was a cherished grandfather to six grandchildren and two step-grandchildren, and a proud great-grandfather to four great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Bruce was preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly Queri, his grandson, Christian, and his sister, Joan Finney/Erwin. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A service will be held on a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Tidewell Hospice in Bruce's memory.
