

Charles Harold Parker Jr.,born April 28, 1935 lovingly known as Charlie, Chuck, Dad, Papa, and Grandpa passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 26, 2024. He leaves behind a legacy of determination, love, laughter, and a life lived to the fullest.
As a member of the Fellowship Church of Englewood, he is survived by his wife of 37 years, Linda Parker; his siblings, Jack Wilson (Janet) and Barbara Staats (Ed); his children, Charles Dean Parker, Pamela Gaines, Mark Parker and Margaret Maddox (Byron); his cherished grandchildren, Ashley Robeson, Brian A. Miles, Kaitlyn Miles, and Elizabeth Miles, his adored five great grandchildren and the family pet, Sparky. His family was a source of immense pride and joy.
A natural storyteller, Charlie could light up any room with his tales and jokes, bringing joy to everyone fortunate enough to know him. His sense of humor and warmth were trademarks of a man who found beauty in life’s simple pleasures and shared it generously with others.
Born with a passion for speed and competition, Charlie lived his life full throttle as a stock car race driver for 25 years in the Chicagoland area, earning his well-known nickname “Charging Charlie Parker,”. His skill and grit on the track were matched only by his commitment to hard work. He was a crane operator and a lifetime member of Local 150 International Union of Operating Engineers, where he built a career rooted in integrity and excellence. He enjoyed fishing, boating, camping and cruising.
As a proud member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 1933 in Englewood FL, he found camaraderie and purpose in giving back to his community. He received the Pilgrim Degree of Merit in 2011 which is the ultimate and highest degree to be bestowed on a member. His vibrant spirit, infectious laughter, and love for his family and friends will be dearly missed. His memory will live on in the stories he told, the jokes he shared, and the love he gave.
A celebration of life will be held to honor him and his incredible journey on Saturday, January 4, 2025, 1:00 PM at the Englewood Moose Lodge,55 W. Dearborn St. Englewood, FL 34223.
