Daniel N. Jimison

Daniel Nathan Jimison died peacefully surrounded by his family on February 16th 2024, five days before his 67th birthday. He leaves behind his 104 year old mother, Doris Sawyer Jimison, his siblings and their partners, John Jimison (Mitzi), Rik Jimison (Liz), Nancy Jimison (Geoff Torry), and Lucy Jimison-Silverio (Gonzalo Silverio) and 17 nieces and nephews who all loved him. Although he never married he also leaves behind the great love of his life Lily Vakaleris, who he reconnected with after a period of separation and who filled his heart with love and happiness.

Dan spent his youth in Granville Ohio, moving to Columbus, Ohio, in 1977 where he made his home until 2009 when he moved to Florida.

Despite being in a wheelchair from his early 20s and mostly bed bound from his 60's onward Daniel was a gifted artist, composer, and inventor who never stopped thinking and producing works. He was a genius. He will be remembered for all of these things but also for his sense of humor, joyous smile, quiet wisdom, and the love he left in his wake. On his deathbed, Daniel requested that the proceeds of any sales of his creative works should go towards eliminating human trafficking. In lieu of flowers or other remembrances, please donate in Daniel’s name to the International Justice Mission.
