David W. Colegrove

David William Colegrove, age 80, of Englewood, Florida passed away July 24, 2023. He was born December 24, 1942 in Washington Court House, Ohio. He graduated from Portsmouth High School in Ohio and went on to attend Miami of Ohio in Oxford. After graduation he served 5 years in the Marine Corps as a flight navigator and achieved the rank of Captain. He went on to pursue a career in Human Resources leading him to Ohio, Wisconsin and Illinois.

In his leisure time, David enjoyed golfing, basketball, traveling, spending time with family and friends, reading, completing crossword puzzles and warm weather. His enjoyment of warmer climates led him to Tennessee and ultimately to Florida.

David leaves behind his wife, Sharon, of 37 years; daughters Jill (Thomas) Purnell and Laura (Matthew) Shevey; stepson Troy Jensen; his grandchildren Jessica (Cassidy) Bartelt, Andrew and Jacob Shevey, Dylan and Brooklyn Jensen and Brandon Patz.

Preceding David in death were his parents William Joseph and Lilly Mae Colegrove.
