

Donald Ross Tamburo, 73, of Rotonda West, Florida died November 17, 2022, at HCA Florida Englewood Hospital. He was born on September 25, 1949, in Baltimore, Maryland and was the son of the late Stephen J. Tamburo, Sr. and Anna R. Tamburo. He was the beloved husband of Jeannette Tamburo.
Donald known as Don to his family and friends lived most of his life in Maryland. He retired to Florida 9 years ago. Don started his career as a truck driver with Manor Dairy Farm. He also worked for Ryder, PDS, Rollins, BOC Gases, Ashland Chemical, and Westinghouse Nuclear waste. Don held the highest endorsement possible on a driver’s license. Don had an entrepreneurial spirit and it led to multiple successful real estate investments and ownership of DJ’s, his pizzeria on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Where he was proud of his pizza making skills. Don was an avid reader and spent hours each day researching and reading through content online teaching himself how to build, fix and create. Don enjoyed food and cooking and always had home improvement projects going on. Don was very well known for his wicked sense of humor and loved practical jokes. He could make anyone laugh. Don was also a huge Orioles fan following them every game and making his retirement home close to Sarasota so he could see spring training games.

- Donald is survived by his loving wife, Jeannette Tamburo.
- He was the devoted father to Lori Tamburo Martini (Marc), Lisa Tamburo Degitz (Jeff), and devoted stepfather to Christine Hohrein (Michael), Marsha Boggs and the late Keith Boggs.
- He was a loving grandfather to Abbey Bosse, Wayne Glass, III, Zachary Lilly, Doug Degitz, Kyle Bruchey, Amber Hohrein, Kaylee Boggs, Tessa Hohrein and Scott Shreve and great-grandfather to Liliana Glass, Wayne Glass, IV, Stella Glass, Silas Glass, Braelynn Bruchey, Amelia Glass, Beau Bruchey, Elijah Shreve, Paul Kaline, Aubrey Kaline, and Hailee Lovill.
- He was a devoted brother to Christina Tamburo Todd (Robert) and Rosemarie Tamburo Martin, and the late Stephen J. Tamburo Jr , and the late M. William Frizzell, Jr. (Jane).
- He is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces, cousins and many, many friends.
- He was preceded in death by his parents Stephen J. Sr. and Anna R. Tamburo, his step-son, Keith Boggs, his brothers M. William Frizzell, Jr. And Stephen J. Tamburo, Jr., brother-in-law, A. John Martin, Jr. and niece Christina A. Frizzell.
Service Information:
- Donald was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp having served in the Vietnam War.
- Viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 10 a.m. with a celebration of life at 11 a.m. at Kays-Ponger and Uselton Funeral Homes and Cremation Services located a 1935 S Tamiami Trail, Venice, FL 34293.
- Interment with military honors will be immediately following at Sarasota National Cemetery 9810 State Road 72, Sarasota, Florida.
- Donations may be made to ST. JUDE in lieu of flowers.
